Dear readers,
As I have said in the past, for a younger looking style, remember… less is more. In other words, in the face, you don’t need to add foundation, concealer or powder… just pick one or the other. For hair, pulling it back in a bun is sophisticated and simple enough. For wardrobe, a simple blouson with skinny jeans and your Christian Loubotton heels is perfect balance to your ensemble. If you choose to use just one accessory, go for it. For inspiration, think of Sofia Coppola.
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.
Rays of sunshine,

Be daring, be unique! This fall, I recommend to gloss it up! Stay away from your matte, flat lipsticks and don’t be afraid to gloss your lips! Not only does it look good, but it will keep those lips moist and healthy for the fall weather. If you’re not used to the gloss on the lips during the day, just pick light shade colors that are less noticeable but be sure to keep them moist. If you’re a night gal, for evening, don’t be shy! Apply orange, pink and red and remember, wear it with style!
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.
Amore,
JOACHIM

“What determines flawless skin” you might be asking yourself. For me, I feel it is hydrated and healthy skin that does not need to use foundation. Therefore, a little bit of concealer and your favorite powder will do the job. But let’s keep in mind that flawless skin requires some sort of protection. I cannot stress the importance of sunblock on your face and your hands. Sun does the worst damage to your skin possible. Be sure to use sunblock and drink lots of water. But most importantly, do not tamper with the blemish on your skin because you can do permanent damage and scarring by further infecting the spot. To top everything off, you can add a little bit of gloss and mascara. To me, as a makeup artist, that is what makes for healthy skin. Now your flawless skin is ready to go out in all it’s glory.
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.

The Vista theater in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles was recently introduced to me by my very good friend Bryan. To my surprise, walking into this amazing, now remodeled theater was absolutely amazing. The first thing that appeared to me was how beautiful the art-deco style along with the Egyptian statue-esque lamps in the theater. I asked myself, “why have I never been here?” For those of you readers nearby, I invite you to join me in this excitement of the beautiful 1920’s style. It can easily seat a couple hundred people and has affordable matinee prices throughout the week of current films in theaters. Come check it out!
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.

Cleanse, moisturize, sunblock, mascara, blush, and gloss. Now let me go ahead and explore my process. Obviously, cleansing is common sense. Use a moisturizer that has sunblock included. Conceal any dark circles or blemish area if needed. You can use a brush or your clean finger to do the job followed by a translucent powder and blush it up! Definitely add blush or a bronzer to highlight the face. Curl the lashes, add mascara and put those lips on! That is my genius makeup regimen. Easy and done in under 5 minutes! If you have ANY questions, let me know and I will even possibly make a video explaining my process!
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.

Oh my god! Pan Am, the new show on ABC featuring Christina Ricci, has finally aired! I have been waiting for this day for ages. I’ve had the privilege to watch the show during it’s television premiere. So girdle on! And buckle up! Because Christina Ricci is taking off! This super talented and beautiful young actress has captivated us for years with her many talents but now is a stand out in this new show. There is something very beautiful and expressive about her eyes that draw you in and make you fall in love over and over again. Obviously, it’s too soon for me to give you a full review of the show as it is fairly new but I will tell you one thing… I am NOT missing it next week! Be sure to check “Pan Am” out on ABC Sundays at 10pm PT! The fashion is to die for as people used to dress up in the 1960’s and wear these beautiful, sophisticated gloves and dresses. Oh what I would have done to have lived that era!
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.

For those that don’t know, Clairol Professional makes an awesome, fabulous Shimmer Lights shampoo for customers that have blonde hair, highlighted hair, or platinum hair. It has a reasonable price and you can find it at any beauty supply store. It is also used for when your highlights start to get dull or yellowish and it helps enhance the color. I highly recommend it. It’s easy to use. Just use it once a week, wash in and rinse out to brighten and renew your hair to it’s blonde state.

Congratulations ABC on your “Dancing With The Stars” debut…you have done it again. I like your new stage design with the beautiful chandeliers throughout the audience. It will definitely help you boost your ratings. Most importantly, I congratulate you on your star power this season. I personally have my favorites and let me start by saying it’s David Arquette, Rod Kardashian, Chaz Bono, JR Martinez and Chynna Phillips. The top 3 contestants with the highest scores are JR Martinez, Chynna Phillips and Chaz Bono. I agree with the judges. All three did a phenomenal job and they stand out among the rest.
I am looking forward to being in your audience one of these days and I’ll probably wait to go towards the finals. Feel free to send me a ticket
and I just want to end this saying- more power to you and keep focusing on the dancing on the show and the good cause behind it. Don’t get distracted by the haters who are probably criticizing you, as I have seen recently in newspapers and blogs which are written by ignorant people. Everyone has a chance in life. They’re God’s light, so let it shine!
And PLEASE remember, no matter what you look like, you can never be as hopeless as my friend Felix.
Hugs,
JOACHIM
