My Story.

Growing up, Joachim always had a keen interest in fashion and glamour. While attending the University of California, Santa Barbara, he began as a makeup artist with Chanel Cosmetics. A trip to London, Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Rome only intensified his passion for beauty and makeup. What started as a part-time job flourished into a lifetime career.

When MAC cosmetics was emerging as the premier, cutting-edge line of makeup, Joachim accepted the opportunity to expand his creativity and use of color by opening the MAC counter at Nordstrom's, Santa Barbara. He enjoyed several years with MAC where the challenges resulted in artistic development, continued education and growth in talent, particularly from the chance to learn from Phillipe Chantal. He eventually transferred with the company to Los Angeles.

Following the buzz of Barneys New York launching in Beverly Hills, Joachim sought the opportunity to work closely with Jeanine Lobell, opening the counter for her new, demure line of stila cosmetics. While at Barneys, Joachim met Vincent Lango and helped him launch his own line of makeup.

Continuing his professional development approach by working with the leading artist, Joachim went to work with Francois Nars as National Makeup Artist for NARS Cosmetics. While with NARS, Joachim represented the line across the country and in Australia, including fashion shows for Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, Mark Jacobs and Badgly Miscka.

After two years as a freelance makeup artist, Joachim landed at the TV Guide Channel as a key Makeup Artist. In 2005, Joachim became the Head of the Makeup and Hair Department at the TV Guide Channel. He has worked on the following TV Guide Channel shows: Idol Chat, 411, Water Cooler, Watch This, Fashion Team, Idol Tonight, Reality Chat, InFANity, Close Up, Hollywookd On Set, Trapped in TV Guide, What's On DVD, what's On, Music News, Screening Room, Hollywood Insider, Best of Late Night, TV Candy, TV Guide Insider, Entertainment News, Pay-Per-View Close Up, Building The Hollywood Body, The Final Showdown, Live at the Idol Finale.

Additionally, Joachim has worked multiple red carpet events including the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, Golden Globes, Screen Actors'Guild (SAG) Awards.
